Beachcomber Wally Taylor won a million with a lottery ticket - and gave it all away within half an hour.
Mr Taylor, 61, who roams Queensland’s tropical northern in his mobile home, won a million Australian dollars (£360,000) and handed out at a rate around £200 a second.
He gave it to 15 relatives, a of friends, the Heart Foundation and cancer . As he reclined under a palm tree Ellis Beach, a few miles from Cairns, he said: “I the caravan against white ants and kept a few hundred bucks for emergencies.
“I went from broke to a millionaire and again in 30 minutes. I am very happy to traded all that money for a life in the tropics. I’m not a nut. I reckon I spent my money .”
The former navy rigger left the world and headed north after his divorce 20 years .
He said: “Life is great up here. What better life there be - eating fruit and coral trout and just it easy? I’d rather live in a caravan than a house. The neighbours are so nicer.”
He still goes into his newsagent’s shop to buy a few lottery tickets week. He said: “I’m still for the big one, but if I win I’ll do the with it. I might only take 20 minutes to give it all away this time. I’m more at it now.”
